HMS Group retrofits foundry at Kazancompressormash

The HMS Group implements an investment project on the foundry re-equipment at Kazancompressormash facility to create a modern foundry complex on its base. The new complex will enable the company to produce the castings of a wide range of alloys, including the steel ones of a large size.

As of today, a smelting complex and a shot-blasting machine have been already commissioned at the facility. The smelting complex comprises three automatically operated furnaces with 8, 6, and 3 tons capacity with possible gas purging through a molten metal. The new shot-blasting machine with an overhead conveyor for the large castings allows triply less time for finishing operations.

In December 2019, a system of four heat-treating furnaces with a total capacity up to 90 tons was put into pilot operation providing heat treatment of castings, forgings, assemblies and other large-sized parts with an in-process temperature range from 550 to 1200 °C.

The foundry complex being created at Kazancompressormash is primarily intended for large-size castings production and is capable of smelting up to 17 tons of liquid metal simultaneously to obtain high-quality steel castings up to 9 tons and cast iron castings up to 13 tons for all industrial facilities of HMS Group as well as for other customers.

HMS Group is one of the leading pump, compressor and modular oil-field equipment manufacturers for the oil and gas, energy, housing and public utilities, and water utilities sectors in Russia and the CIS as well as a fast developing engineering company performing a wide range of design, construction, installation and commissioning works for integrated development of oil and gas extraction, and water facilities. HMS Group’s global depositary receipts (“GDRs”) are listed under the symbol “HMSG” on the London Stock Exchange.
